Teaching Science in a K-12 Basic Education Curriculum Science is such a wonderful world. It deals with nature and natural phenomena. In the field of study, science demands eyes keen for observing, analytical, synthesizing and bias free minds, traits such as perseverance, diligence and sacrifice. The learning area standard for science is holistic. It embraces the cognitive (understanding the basic concepts in science), psychomotor (application of science inquiry skills) and affective domains (exhibit scientific values). In teaching the science, one of the approach used is the Spiral Approach. In this approach, the teacher begins with the basic/ simple to more complex in treatment as they are taughr across the grades. This aproach must be interdisciplinary/ integrative which science can integrate with another subject areas.

In teaching science which SPIRAL PROGRESSION ia used, the subjects such as earth science, biology, chemistry and physics which used to be taught as separate disciplines are all taught in every grade level. Teachers revistis to the basic concepts in every grade level but teach them in more complex ideas as they go up the grade level.
